We recommend departure no later than 9 am.
Once leaving Rome and driving down the “autostrada del Sole” motorway, we can admire the Benedictine Abbey of Montecassino, halfway through our journey. This site is famous for the great battle that took place during the II World War.
In Naples you will be able to visit and enjoy the splendid XII century castle called the Maschio Agioino, the San Martino Certosa (charterhouse) museum , the Royal Palace, the Castel dell’Ovo castle and the famous Caracciolo Gallery.
The Vesuvius, the unmistakeable symbol of the city will always be a backdrop to your tour.
You can enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants of the city, and stroll through the streets and lanes, on the hunt for that special souvenir. You will be able to have a typical Neapolitan coffee and buy the famous “sfogliatelle napoletane” pastries, which will provide you with a sweet accompaniment on your way back to Rome.
Next stop, Pompei and the ruins of this famous roman city destroyed so long ago.
Pompei is a unique architectonic, sculptural, painting and mosaic patrimony. The ash and lapillus that buried the city following the eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 AD have helped to conserve the Roman city in its entirety and in an excellent state.
At the end of the tour we will head back to Rome.
